GreenStep was founded in 2008 to help businesses increase profits while improving their sustainability performance.

To date, we have worked with over 1600 businesses and organizations within several sectors, including private, public, non-profit and academic institutions; in a variety of industries such as tourism and hospitality, retail, professional services and manufacturing; and with organizations of all sizes, from those with less than 5 employees to those with more than 2,000.

We practice what we preach. GreenStep is a Certified B Corporation, we’re powered by 100% renewable energy, and after reducing as much as possible, we measure and then offset our remaining carbon emissions.


Meet Our Team

Angela Nagy: 
President & CEO

Angela has led the development or acquisition of all of GreenStep’s training and sustainability programs including Green Tourism Canada, ecobase Certified and ecobase Carbon Software. She also works directly with or supports project management of GreenStep’s consulting clients.

Angela has a twenty-year background in project management, business development, marketing and public relations, directly related to sustainability She has lived and traveled extensively throughout the US and Canada, working with all levels of business, utilities, as well as various levels of governments, on a variety of engineering, energy efficiency, environmental and sustainability related projects. Angela’s experience also includes politics, and she has served as a Kelowna City Councillor and Regional District Director, with a focus on sustainability-related policies and initiatives.

She is certified in Organizational GHG Accounting and as a Sustainability Practitioner through The Natural Step. Her extensive volunteer work has included being trained by former Vice President and Nobel Laureate, Al Gore, David Suzuki and IPCC scientists, to deliver the Climate Reality Project presentations to community groups.

Andrea Mackintosh, BSc: 
Project Manager

Andrea takes the lead role in managing several projects with our government, business and institutional clients. Her extensive background includes overseeing dozens of waste audits, supporting the delivery of hundreds of energy assessments, creating suitability policies, delivering sustainability assessments and training, and

Andrea completed her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at Royal Roads University (2011) after obtaining her diploma in Water Quality Technology and Environmental Engineering at Okanagan College, and is certified in Organizational GHG Accounting from the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute.

Andrea enjoys volunteering where she can make a difference. She coordinates several annual GreenStep volunteer events, such as shoreline and creek cleanups and  our Adopt-a-Stream program.

Darrell Eason, BBA, CEM: 
Green Tourism Assessor and Business Energy Advisor

Darrell specializes in helping businesses and organizations benefit from the business case for sustainability, with a focus on energy efficiency. He has conducted over 600 business energy assessments, working with utility incentive programs to help clients achieve short-term savings and long term return on investment. Darrell has also conducted several waste and water assessments, and has spent the past two years assessing hospitality and tourism operators for the Green Tourism Program as a trained Green Tourism Assessor. Darrell holds his Certified Energy Manager designation and earned a degree in business administration (2000) from the University of Portsmouth Business School. He was a hotel/restaurant owner/operator in his former career.

Sean McFetridge, BBA, CEM: 
Green Tourism Assessor, Business Energy Advisor

Sean is both a business professional and sustainability specialist who excels in finding sustainability solutions for clients. His focus is on working with industry to reduce the carbon, water and waste impact of their business operations. Sean conducts Green Tourism Assessments for tourism businesses and is a Business Energy Advisor. Sean completed his BBA at Okanagan College, and holds several professional certifications including, Certified Energy Management, Organizational GHG Accounting, Project Level-GHG Accounting, GHG Information Management Systems, GHG Accounting for Forest Inventories, LEED Associate and Certified Associate in Project Management.

Linda Frischmuth: Waste Reduction Educator 

Linda is a graduate of the Environmental Studies Diploma program at Okanagan College in Kelowna. 

Before moving to the Okanagan in 2014, she was studying Law in the Netherlands. Linda works with GreenStep as a Waste Reduction Educator and on other environmental projects.



Dr. Joe Kelly, BSc, MSc, PhD: Joe has 15 years of professional experience in transportation and tourism and is well versed in climate change issues and strategies. As one of Canada’s leading experts on tourism and climate change, Joe has designed greenhouse gas inventories, carbon management plans and carbon offset programs for dozens of private and public sector clients. Joe teaches courses on environmental and climate stewardship at Capilano University, he has authored numerous articles, and he has presented at conferences around the world. In 2008, Joe was awarded the Charles R. Goeldner Article of Excellence Award by the Travel and Tourism Research Association. Joe holds a PhD in Resource and Environmental Management. Joe was a founding partner of Gobi Carbon Management Solutions, which was purchased by GreenStep Solutions and is now ecobase.net.

Ken Martin_0

Ken Martin, MBA
: Ken has over 20 years experience in managing business development, sales and engineering teams, and selling and installing wireless data networks worldwide including four years managing an Asia Pacific sales and support division for Motorola in Singapore. He also spent five years in a wireless e-commerce start-up as VP of Business Development, assisting with raising $30M in venture financing, managing major Canadian and US bank clients and building a 100+ strong organization. Ken is a co-founder of Passion4Action, a developer of environmental sustainability programs and tools, including Gobi Carbon Management Solutions. Ken has an MBA.

Fraser Campbell: Fraser Campbell is an Executive in Residence at Accelerate Okanagan. He is a serial entrepreneur who has participated in several startups, rollouts, mergers and acquisitions over the last 25 years, with his partners in First Growth Management. He has been involved in corporate structure, strategic planning, change management, and business systems across Canada and the US within several service industries such as warehousing, aviation, construction, oil and gas, and defense and public security.
